Sauce & Spoon

Sauce & Spoon was my capstone project for the Google Project Management course. I acted as Peta, the project manager, updating documentation for a successful launch. I worked through a realistic project scenario, responding to data as it unfolded. The assignments were peer-assessed and graded.

Sauce & Spoon is a small restaurant chain that has plans for expansion. One of the ways to meet this goal is to launch a pilot project to test out the impact of installing new menus on the tablets on each table. The goal is to make it easier for the customers to order and speed up the time it takes to get the food out on the table.

During the project I achieved the following:

  • Analyzed project documents and supporting materials to identify project requirements.

  • Clearly articulated the goals of implementing new menus on the tablet.

  • Identified stakeholders: determined who will be affected by or involved in the project.

  • Completed a project charter and used it as a tool to align project scope and goals among stakeholders.

  • Added specificity to project goals to make them SMART and applied practical negotiation skills with stakeholders to prioritize project goals.

  • Developed a project plan: outlined tasks, timelines, and milestones for the tablet menu implementation.

  • Demonstrated effective communication techniques for making accurate time estimates for project tasks.

  • Defined and described quality management standards and evaluated against those standards to ensure that the project achieved the required quality.

  • Generated evaluation questions from survey questions and recognized how to share qualitative data effectively.

  • Learned strategies to facilitate a productive retrospective by encouraging participation, accountability, and positivity.

  • Learned how to communicate and escalate project problems to stakeholders and demonstrated my impact through effective reporting strategies.

  • Learned how to evaluate results: Assessed the success of the tablet menu pilot against the project objectives.

  • Prepared the final report, documenting the outcomes, lessons learned, and recommendations for future implementations.
